Last night I lost my yellow lab Lilly. The last 10 years have been filled with unimaginable pain.
I have lost my dad, mom, daughter, aunt, my heeler and now my lab in that order.
What am I doing wrong or not seeing with all this loss.
Lilly was only 6.5 years old. Doc thinks an infection from a uti went to her brain. She has been in an animal hospital since Tuesday being treated.
Folks, I've had enough of this pain. I should be used to it. My life and my wife's life has been filled mostly pain.
I just don't get it. Living wrong or being tested? I don't know anymore.
Going to pick her up this morning, so my day will be spent digging a hole and trying to make sense of all this loss.

You have my sympathy.

Sorry about your pain and loss. Your not doing anything wrong. Life is full of trials and tribulations. Animals don't have long lifespans. If you can't handle this type of loss and it is having adverse effects on your life now don't bring any more animals at this time into your life. Dealing with family losses is enough to break anyone down for a while. Take care and God bless

Sending hugs. It hurts so bad. Time WILL ease the sting but it just takes a while. You’ll still cry and sometimes it’ll come out of nowhere.

Unfortunately, random chance results in both good and bad things happening to both good and bad people. We just have to do the best we can. An increase in pain and loss comes with age I have learned, as our friends pass and our own health declines.

My thoughts as well. We're here for you brother! You just have to figure out a way to keep moving forward and let time heal.

My heart aches for you, brother. It's not that you did anything wrong - for the moment we live in a world of sin and death until Christ returns or we return to Him. A quote I keep coming back to in my head when I find myself dwelling on the negatives is "the mind is it's own place, and can make a heaven of (heck), or a (heck) of heaven." If we dwell on the negatives, all we're going to see around us is negatives. If we've put our faith and trust in Jesus, and spend time with Him in His Word, by reading verses of His promises and blessings, it mentally redirects us to focus on His goodness. I sincerely encourage you to spend time in the Bible, pray that God would speak to you through His Word, and find verses that remind you of His strength to get you through this difficult time. I would start with Romans 8:37, and then read the verse right before it as you reread the verse again to understand it's context, and then I would read Psalm 91, and let Him lead you as you explore deeper into His Word.

Man I am so sorry. I lost my best friend last Sunday. I was a mess for a couple of days. I just got a new pup to fill the void.

Sorry to hear about your misfortune SgtC. Sometimes a man bonds with a good dog, and the pain when they pass is severe.
