I put my grandson in for a turkey tag for the first time. His season is 4/12 - 5/18. For adults here it is a draw system, youth first time guaranteed tag. My daughter said that it says he has a tag. So I guess we are going.

Got draw results today and drew my special unit tag. Will be meeting my two buddies for turkey camp, like we do every year. Like every season starting back up, I’ve never been more excited.

Jealous man! I got a late start to this addiction. This is only my 16th season but I went full bore from day one! I was lucky enough to be introduced to traveling early. Realized it can be done relatively cheap and most states have plenty of public land opportunities. If you’re willing to put in the effort you’ll find turkeys! I’ve missed only a few opening days, but that was babysitting so my daughter-in-law could go. My wife says the only reason I have a job is to be able to turkey hunt, lol. I enjoy ALL hunting, but if all seasons came in at the same time I’d never kill another deer, duck, or dove. All my time would be devoted to turkeys.

Yes....lots of strutting here. Better turkey numbers than expected. Several accessible gobblers.
