Still have around 8-10 20' sticks, but I haven't decided what to build outta them yet.

What a pile!
What do you use the ones with what looks like #9 wire on them for?

Yes, I made them specifically for softer creek banks for snaring beavers in their runs, but they would work for snaring dry land too, like killpoles for fox & bobcats, etc...

I kind of like welding when I don't have a deadline or a boss looking over my shoulder. I know what you mean.

I like leaving a 1/2 to 3/4 stub of rebar above the weld, makes it easier to pull the stake with a pair of vice grips.

I have never used rebar so, question: Would heating and bending the end more than 90 degrees like a tent stake be as effective?

Killing me, when I was still working hauling trash we had a drop box sitting in our work yard, it was half full of neatly stacked rebar, 1/2 inch up to 1-1/2 inch! Sat for weeks before anyone had time or probably needed the box and took it to a scrap yard. Could had made a lot of goodies with that. It’s been several years but I still can see what it looked like. It was a 20 yard box so about 10 yards full probably super heavy.

I don't think so unless I'm not understanding your plan. If they were bent over just at the top the trap would slide off the end if it gets pulled at all out of the ground. You could probably fold over a couple inches of the top back tight to the stake, but that would be pretty time consuming.

I bet that works good. I make some with a nut on the end for guys who like to do that, but I also have stake pullers that hook under the washer for the others. I actually weld the washer down 1/4-1/2" on the stake but use super high heat and melt that top down onto the washer so you don't knock the washer off when you pound on it. I find it easier to bed traps if you stake them in the bottom of the trap bed, if the top is mostly flat.
