Due to my heart attack and issues resulting from it had to cancel my trip to Alaska to trap a wolverine for at least a couple of years. As that door closes another opens up as I'm really looking now into trapping some bobcats in southern Arizonia in a area near where I lived as a kid.My doctors agree this would be a much better and safer choice for me.Got to invest in some cage traps.Right now I'm leaning towards the camtrips that you can buy in groups of 4 to 5 traps.I'm excited about this upcoming new adventure.Nevada and Kansas are out as I'm trying to get away from the snow as much as possible. Also Nevada you can't trap bobcats as a nonresident and need to live there at least 6 months.I can trap in Arizonia as a nonresident.

Bruce, Don't know if there's any private land in the area your planning to trapp? You can still use conventional foot holds on private. How old were you when you left AZ? Going to have both footholds and cages with me is the plan. Was 6 years old when I last lived in Arizona in Seirra Vista

Yep, that is what life is about. New ventures and journeys and opportunities. I love new ideas and learning new things is a life motivator. I hope the dream is a reality the planning and living the dream before it happens is what makes life interesting. I wish you well!

More wildlife in Arizona than a guy thinks there might be not what I pictured in my head before I went down there and trapping had some different approaches to trap placements.

AZ has no shortage of state and federal land to trap on. Navajo will issue a permit, but not for bobcats.
Were are you planning on going ?

Were are you planning on going ? The Navajo nation DOES allow trapping of bobcats but they only issue 25 non-Navajo trapping permits. If I remember correctly, if there are more than 25 non-Navajos that apply for a trapping permit they do a draw just like they do for big game. They also reserve the right to select non-Navajo trappers based on references or previous years harvest reports that you are required to complete at the end of the season. The ranch that I have been trapping this year is surrounded by the Navajo nation.
