Wife just sent me the link for this stuff she found on Amazon. Might be good, might be worthless so I figured I would check on here for any opinions or experience with it.

She gets around the yard in a wheelchair and the moles are a real problem.

Thanks!

My dad tried them did not work. He went to the destroyer smoke bombs and thought it worked. There was a learning curve he said, light the thing and let it really get to going before setting into tunnel or else he thought they where going out. I tried the destroyers once on a large job, didn’t think they were worth the money. Went back to traps.

Are you looking at this as an option for your wife to just stick in the ground from her wheelchair?
The reason I’m asking is because if there is someone that can set traps, trapping is 100% the most effective solution. With trapping you KNOW 100% you are actually eliminating the problem.
I sell mole traps and have lots of YouTube video tutorials. It’s a lot easier than you might think. Here is a link to a short video showing a typical set. Let me know if I can help you out. Thanks!

Save your money. You may get lucky to place some where they may be eaten. Some may get dug up by a pet or other wildlife, which isn't good for the pet or wildlife if consumed.

She would not be doing the setting from her chair. Other animals getting into them would be a problem around here.

She thought they might be an easier alternative than using traps. I have a number of different styles of mole traps and might have to use them.

Tony-I am going to watch your videos. Your traps seem like they are easy and effective.

Thanks to all!

80+% of the mole’s diet are earthworms. Any bait you put there for them has to fool the mole. Is that gummy worm that looks like a worm to us going to look like a worm to a mole? In the dark? Is it going to feel like a live worm? Smell like a live worm? At first bite, taste like a live worm?

If you’re used to eating steak, and were blindfolded, could somebody slide a similar sized piece of broccoli in front of you and fool you?

Why would they eat it? I’ve seen videos of moles tearing into them. I have to wonder if the moles weren’t starved before the test.

All good questions, most of which only a mole can answer.

The product you mention may work to some extent for your own use. Evidently and based on the reviews, if they are true, it works for some. I bank on catching moles for customers using 3-4 different types of traps and prefer to show them my catches either in person or via photos or videos. The majority of them enjoy seeing the rascals dead and gone. Most of them want to see what they’re paying me for. And I ALWAYS advise them about their penchant for re-colonization of existing tunnels/burrows.
Whether you use traps or poisoned fake worms does not ensure that you will eliminate the moles on any property. The soil type, irrigation and landscape practices on your property plus your surrounding neighbors will dictate whether more moles will re-colonize the existing tunnels and dens remaining. Understand that the raised ridges hindering the wheelchair are only the mole’s foraging or feeding tunnels. They have deeper tunnels/dens where they live, breed and ween their young. Best of Luck.
