I have several 7mm construction demo bags on the shelf. Wondering if anyone has ever used them to fill with rocks, tie it off, and cable to a drowning cable. Seems like they should work. It may get torn on the way out but beats hauling in heavy steel all the time.

Thanks, Wally

Is that the same as what I call a contractor grade trash bag?

Not sure if I'd trust that to hold up plus I'm hesitant to put more plastic in the environment. I do use them from time to time to drag a few out, which is why I know they aren't bulletproof.

Sand bags aren't that expensive.

I have sandbags. My issue with sandbags is tying a knot to attach a cable.. There does not seem to be enough bag to knot up. Maybe I'm putting too many rocks in it.

Try rebar tie wire. The ones that come with a loop. Use a small rock inside the bag, wire around that. Quick link to loop.
