Personally, I would consider Lithium Ion batteries. I would too if money was no object and I used it more. But its not, and I dont.

I had a set of Optima AGM that were 6 years old and still strong when I sold my bass boat a couple years ago. Yes I used my onboard charger.
I currently have the Walmart MAXX batteries and they are from 2020 had holding charge through a full day of fishing. They are just extremely heavy.
I would love to try the lithium batteries but have trouble justifying the cost.

Forget to add my boat stays in climate control building so that might add to life if batteries. One question is how old are you? How long you going to be fishing? Why pay 5 times the amount fir lithium? Now if you take your battery out every time you use it yes get the light weight. My ever start hadn’t been touched in 8 years. They also were still working I just had the money and didn’t want to risk going fishing and have a dead battery 369 bucks for 3 29C ever start maxx could have bought the truck on the other thread for what lithium batteries would have cost Thats kind of where im at. If I used it weekly all summer, id invest in the spendy stuff. Id also have $4000 worth of forward facing sonar too! But its hard to justify that kind of money on something that doesnt get used that often. The boats almost 30 years old after all!

I know you don't want to hear it. Lithium lol.
You can put a live scope in a boat for around 2500.
