Not exactly the subject, but when I made the switch to chest waders I've never looked back. Hip boots are always looking to find a hole just a mite deeper than they are. AN added plus, with my life vest snugging it down I have swam with them (after an escaping boat) and don't even get wet inside hardly.

Wish these companies would make these boots for guys with size 15+ boots. I would bet IF you called Dan's they could/would find a way to accommodate you. They attach their chaps to boots of your choice so I don't see why they couldn't get some 15's, or you could send them some to attach the chaps to.

I do have a pair of hips made by Gator with brush guards and love’em for scouting when all I need to do is just get close to see. That being said though, I only wear waders (Adam Built Breathables or Gator Insulated) when I’m actually water trapping no matter the depth. A pretty darn good mink trapper told me years ago that if you’re not getting low down and looking to set up under the long grasses & overhangs, you’re not seriously wanting to trap mink! In order to do this you’ll fill your hips in knee deep water or get a wet butt squatting!

Wish these companies would make these boots for guys with size 15+ boots. Dans usually will work with you they have an option to send your own boots the issue is finding good boots in a 15 or larger is still a task

A wise old trapper once told me that the best thing about hip boots is that they hold twice as much water as knee boots!
