I'm pretty sure this not a budget, but yet again a continuing resolution.
Who is John Galt?

If they shut down things slow down and in the past after closing for a week the federal workers get paid for not showing up. If they push things down the road till Sept. we just assume more debt which is what got us into this mess. Looking at it they the govt. congress and senate and Potus work for us, seems like both sides need to give some and get the job done for the people. Neither side will get all they want but the tax payer is always the loser, they are paid to get the job done. Really nerves me to see that Musk thought they should get a raise! I doubt that will help things. I have always thought the government was top heavy and all agencies have some fat I dont agree with how things are being cut now. Agencies should have sent their budget proposals in to Congress and congress should have agreed on a budget package sent it back to the agencies and let them do the cutting. Not sure what is happening now but the process changes daily and tanks the market or any plans a business has to continue. How can a company start up or move back to the states without knowing what is going to happen. Move back to the states and the tariffs are off, would hate to be making autos now or trying to sell them. I get what you are saying, but you have to know that Congress would never agree on a budget package, and they would not cut anything. Congress does nothing and is mostly a collection of useless blowhards.

It needs 60 votes in the Senate. If there is a shutdown it will rest solely with Senate Democrats. ^^^^^This! how many times in the past have you seen/heard Schumer, et al decrying the possibility/tragedy of a potential .gov shutdown? shoe's on the other foot, now!

I agree trapdog1 I would fire the whole mess of them on both sides and a lot of others. Im old enough to remember when they worked for us and it was always a dickering over things but they got something done and most of the times it worked and if not it got changed and fixed. Now they babble on and on about things and get nothing done but get their benefits, perks, under the table deals and still get paid. Im not picking sides they are all useless. Some things like second amendment, abortion the abcs and special rights stuff will never stay the same its just a battle they use to get votes.. It keeps us from looking at how they get special deals, break laws, avoid conflict of interest good old boy and girl business deals going. None of them drug test, pass background investigations and most dont disclose tax returns or business dealings. Yet the lawmakers make our taxes, laws, start wars and spend our money and exclude themselves from programs they force us into like affordable health care.

The last time a budget was passed on time was 2019 , under Trump.
There comes a point liberalism has gone too far, we're past that point.

The last time a budget was passed on time was 2019 , under Trump.
Last time the actual budge process was completely followed was done under Clinton.

Gary Benson wants to lay off All the government employees I guess that would be from POTUS on down including all the military GIs Government issues, congress, senate really. Odd you like to pick on Wy or my comments. The second biggest revenue producer in the state of Wy. I recreation! Millions of people come here every year to visit National Forests, Monuments, Parks and grasslands. The state of wy gets 25% of what ever is generated on public lands managed by the federal government, part of the reason we have no state income taxes. Almost half of the state are a bit over 48% are public lands managed by a bit over 7000 employees, Forest Service, BLM, National parks and Monuments, Bureau of Reclamation, veterans affairs, Social Security on and on. The state of Wyoming manages a bit over 5% of the land base the rest being private and employees over 10,000 employees talk about top heavy. When you go to a vet hospital and have to drive over 2 hours or SS office it becomes important. Most small towns in Wy are small and have federal offices in them to help people, the employees are part of the community and add to its economic base. You have often stated in your post you and your son enjoy Wy maybe you should stay in NE. a lot of the main travel routes are federal highways.
