I had some good snoeshoe dogs that had difficulty running cottontails they had to work although cottontails were scarce My last beagle was spending to much time looking instead of hunting But luckily enough there were lots of houndmen then a i was refered to a gentleman looking for a beagle Don't know how much hunting Bisquit got in but he became a house dog and put on lots of miles in the front seat of a truck

They have lots of cottontails in Arizona, and depending on where you are they have snowshoes and tons of jackrabbits. Those jackrabbits could probably give your beagles a heckuva race. Might have to upgrade to the big beagles for them.

I bet you are. Would love to go rabbit hunting with you. Haven't done it behind dogs in quite a few years. Ever since our cottontails crashed. Seem to be coming back a bit now and I go "brush pile kicking" every once in a while for dinner

A hound that learns to hunt something else is not a good hunting dog. They call that trashy. Musket will be better off staying in Maine.
