Throw a ladder on your truck and get an LLC, go out on your own. $ 150 an hour is the going rate here, the trick is work slow. "the trick is work slow" You believe this and feel good about treating customers this way?

"the trick is work slow" You believe this and feel good about treating customers this way? My nephew is a carpenter. His theory is if you take your time and think things through slowly you don't make as many mistakes and therefore don't have to go back and fix booboos. He stays busy.

PTO is as nice perk. Glad I have it. The average job I assume is between 20 and 30 dollars an hour. Trades, at least here are over 50. It all balances out.

Sigpros I imagine that you know the same guys in skilled trades that I know !
I interviewed there last summer for skilled trades
It went very well up to the point when they did the math and figured out that I'm rapidly approaching 60 years old. Lol. I’m probably do know some of them. I’ve been at Ford for 25 years. The last 3 die makers we hired were over 60. 2 have already quit

If one includes the benefits, it's a lot better only asking (percentage-wise) for hourly rate... like your rate is 10 percent higher than other's rate, etc. The devil is in the details. The benefits are very important. Details matter.
