Are they not invasive in your state? I wouldn’t intentionally plant them if so. A terrible tree to get started in your area if you don’t already have it. I burn a lot of it for firewood and enjoy the berries, but if I could get rid of them all, I would in a heartbeat

Nice . . I planted a handful two years ago, they seem to grow fast I've never tried growing the. before. My Elderberry plants all got eaten by deer Except the three plants by my houses south side.

Sadly, 10 yrs trying to establish cuttings or volunteer seedlings has not wintered more than one season at our N central hobby orchard. They grow and fruit like weeds around our Mpls home.

For being invasive they at least provide a wonderful, though messy fruit bounty. Mpls has declared war on them so I have lost all my local park supply. Sanz mulberry wine.

People on here like to complain about farmers dozing out fence lines…….there’d be a lot less fence lines getting removed if it weren’t for mulberries. Birds, deer, coon, ect all love them. The problem is, they all don’t use a restroom and flush when they take a dump…..

Planting a mulberry is no different than planting a Russian thistle or Palmer amaranth and should be treated accordingly. Threads like this blow my mind
