Etf's. What's your knowledge and thoughts compared to mutual funds

Any investment involves risk and the more you think you know the riskier it becomes. I go with buying stocks and selling options. I like stocks that have been around a while, AT&T , Delta for example. Stocks will go up and down overtime but you make your always making money selling the options on them.

Higher fees with mutual funds compared to etf’s

ETFs trade all day long,,,,not so with mutual funds

Some mutual funds have exposure to privately traded companies(ie,,star link etc) which can be a plus

I prefer etf' over mutual funds for the reason spjones stated. Lower fees and trade like stock.

It's a matter of personal preference. I prefer mutual funds. With ETFs trading like stocks, it can be tempting to trade a lot more with the ETFs than mutual funds. I agree with Warren Buffett: Investing is like a bar of soap. The more you touch it, the more it goes away.

I’m just a very small time investor but in my opinion, mutual funds suck. I’ve done much better with my individual stocks. Mutual funds just sit there and move a little bit now and then. You’ll never make much money on mutual funds.
