Waiting for those SQUARE TAIL GROUSE pictures Tray.

up until the late 1930's was the most abundant grouse here but agri practices changed the landscape for them to flurish

Great pics. Sharpies are like the little wind up toys of the prairie. Wind em up, let them go and they go like crazy for 30 seconds. Then they all freeze. Sharpies are relatively quiet on the lek. Greater prairie chickens on the other hand are loud. I go to places that are virtually surround sound chickens every morning.

prairie chickens have disappeared here. used to shoot a couple every year. 30 years ago. have not seen one in a long time
