Looking at getting a new pair of hip boots and looking at LaCross insulated. I'm sure there's others that are better but I will have some credit at MTP that I would like to use. Anyone have any experience with LaCross insulated hip boots?

No problems here with them

45-50 years ago they were a great hip boot. I would go months with out putting any thing else on my feet. I would get a year out of a pair back then. I use them so little now if they are the same they would last 20 years. I have no idea how they are compared to what they were back then. But It is what I still use.

only compliant is you have to put exhaust tape on my mini bike and fourwheeler cause it burns a hole in every single brand and type of muckboot I get still haven't found a fireproof muck boot

The LaCrosse hip boots I’ve always gotten were the non-insulated kind. Insulated boots make me sweat too much when the weather is above freezing. Today’s LaCrosse hip-boots don’t hold up nearly as well as they used to. Their move to China resulted in a great boot becoming mediocre.

Like what has been said...used to be a great boot but has changed( like a lot of things) and not as tough any more. Tried the insulated black boots one time and didn't go back...too hot.
I did try the green swamp boots made LaCrosse and liked them. Much thinner material but surprisingly got several years out of them. The bottom tread of the boot did wear quickly and became pretty slick. Just my take....

I’ve had a pair of lacrosse hip boots for two seasons so far and like them very much. Never put a hole in one despite wading through many submerged sticks during spring beaver trapping.

pretty good boots, wish they had a more aggressive tread with more traction, I might get Dan's for next season

Test em out well before you need them. I've had two pairs of the Trapline boots leak right out of the box. Same spot on both pairs. Other than that, they've been good for me.

Snow, do you think the leak from being folded too long in the box?

They leaked at the seam between the sole and the foot part, on the outside of the right foot. You could see the defect in the "seam". I think its a manufacturing process issue.

Once you have the Item number off of the boot, you can watch for sales in the summer months. A lot of places carry them in addition to trapping supply companies. I just bought a pair online in September for $135.00 with free shipping.

The insulated ones are a little heavier for me and I love the black uninsulated LaCrosse just cut off the tops on a 17 year pair they’ve served me well

LaCross aren't near the boot they used to be. I used to get 4 or 5 years out of a pair with no issues, trapping hard for a couple months every day. Now I'm lucky to get one year. They start cracking at the edge of the reinforced knee patch.

I've refrained for years in saying this, but Dan's boots and gauntlets and raincoats are junk in my opinion. I live fairly close and have been to their place and bought from them. The rain coat works great until it rains. The gauntlets don't leak until you put your hand in the water. I've not tried their boots. I don't want to waste any more money. A friend has their hip boots and likes them except his seat in the truck gets soaked every day from the water clinging to the canvas uppers every time he gets in and out of the water.

Thanks, that will be the first thing I look at.
