I usually get over a sore back in a few days but this one has been hanging on for over a week . I do not have back issues in general but occasionally sore from a slip or twist . Anyone here use the inversion table and does it help you ? I am 75 if that matters .

I never had, probably should of, but a friend of mine swears by it, it puts traction on the vertebra stretching them to alleviate the pinching of the nerves and allows better blood flow to them.... Of course after your done stretching it out, your back to standing on it and I'm guessing it compresses again, so YMMV..

I have one and use it when I have really screwed my back; definitely helps. It can hurt quite a bit when getting on it as you are forced to lay flat on the backboard when you start to invert. It is a good idea to have someone around when using it too as some folks struggle to get back to upright, especially 1st time using.

I went to rehabilitation for my back. One thing they did was put me in a swimming pool. It was deep enough that my feet didn’t touch the bottom. They had me hold onto the edge of the pool and just dangle there. They claimed that would stretch my back out and would help with the pain. It worked. They also had me walk across the pool, at about chest deep. I guess that, that, helped to strengthen my back.

We have a teeter hang ups and the worst part is trying to unlock your feet . The newer models have fixed that with a more “reachable” lock.

You could hang from a chin up bar for awhile. I used to hang from the trusses in my garage to help stretch my back. I have an inversion table also, haven't used it much, but it certainly stretches things out.

I know people with inversion tables and it does what they did for me in traction at the physical therapist

a friend of mine who passed last year at 70 still use theirs regularly

it gets the weight off the disc

75 can be nearly in the grave of quite mobile so you need to be the judge if it will work for you getting up and down in and out

I have a neighbor in his 80s who rides his bike miles a day and you would never know he was mid 80s

go try one someplace and have help incase the need to help you in and out

Try one before you buy it. Didnt help me when I get sore. Blood rushes to your head. Not comfortable. If you were not so far away I would give you one.

Works for me. Just make sure it adjusted correctly for you. At least on the Teeter, it is very well balanced and just moving your arms moves it.

I have one and it helped with my back problem. The incline angle is adjustable and, like Danny, I found the steep angle very uncomfortable with the blood filling my head. I found the gentle angles worked for me. It seemed to decompress the joints and allow blood flow that helped my back be more healthy. I think it's best to get in a routine of using it a few minutes a day to get that benefit. I no longer use it because my surgeon said that was the only thing I could not do after my hip replacement.

I don’t like hanging upside down in it. That’s not how you’re supposed to use it. You invert back and forth constantly and it’s that which provides blood flow and helps take pressure off the disc. You don’t have to go clean upside down and I use a tether so it only goes backward so far.
Additionally I wont use it when I’m alone

That is sort of amazing, I don't care who you are.
