That will be a major part of it. AI is going to change a lot. The labor participation rate is at 62.5%. Don from a high of 67%. Why can't we reverse that trend?

I’m unclear where businesses will find workers of all these factories that are to come back to America. Nearly every company in the area I live in struggles to hire workers now. I can’t see where a sewing factory or one making sneakers is gonna have any luck recruiting help. All in location. Down here people would kill for a decent paying factory job. But no, if factories are gonna pay less than McDonald's or Walmart, they won't find much help....

Tariffs are not going to improve the U.S. manufacturing problem as much as you hope. The real solution would be to slowly reduce government spending ( or reduce growth ) and let economic growth catch up to spending. That is what they did in 90's If there needs to be pain, it should be on all the recipients of government wealth transfer programs. This current nonsense is smoke and mirrors. IMO.

Where I live, drug culture done fried so many young folks brain that they cannot multitask or given a responsibility. They literally need one and only one task and that would be go pick up rocks or sticks. They can't operate a piece of equipment without messing something up. They are mules and mules only cause they don't have the brain capacity to think. They are worth $10/hour only, but beg for raises all the time.
What I don't understand is how can these poor working class kids born into nothing find enough money to buy drugs?

Good article on BS Dirt, creating tariffs to cure Americas debt and economy is like transplanting lynx in Colorado, just does not work. What is going on now with Musk is like the surgeon telling you he can do surgery on your brain tumor and then coming into the operating room with a chainsaw. There is fat in the government and employees that are not productive but randomly gutting agencies should not be done by Musk and Doge. The agency should have been given a year to trim there budget decide where is should be done and given an easy route to getting rid of the dead wood. l raise cattle and a few horses for a living and have been operating two ranches for years. I started with loans a lot of them and help with GI benefits. I have always run a thin profit margin, kept debt down and had to cull the herd but having a ranch hand come in an make those decisions was not in the plan and would not make sense. What's going on now is billionaires enjoying a power trip and fattening their bottom line and its not going to fix the problems the way its being done, not in 4 years or another term. America needs to get some working class into politics, hold the accountable for their lack of duty and violations of the law. They need to work together for the American people and untie them not tear the apart and try to isolate us from the rest of the world. So you are under the impression Musk has the power to make the cuts? Everything I read that's not the sky is falling propaganda you know actual facts says Musk is running audits and making recommendations. It's up to the agency or others in charge to make the cuts. Musk has zero authority to make any cuts only recommendations.

[quote][What I don't understand is how can these poor working class kids born into nothing find enough money to buy drugs?/quote]
What's the going rate for some of the upstanding gentlemen willing to pay in cash for ..."oral pleasure"...?
Just think of how much damage we could have done to the Mexican drug cartels if we would have used the money that went to the Ukies to fight the Rus against our neighborhood bad guys ...? I find the immediate poisoning. either acute or long-term, via stuff such as fentanyl much more of a national security threat than to protect the Western alliance fiat currency and banking system "agreement".
But then again, how many F-35s could be bought if we were engaged in a fairly intensive war against the Mexican cartels...? The MIC makes way less cash in small arms ammo and say even good old 2.5 inch unguided rockets. Not everything has to be taken out with a Hellfire missile except maybe truly high value targets or "target rich" opportunities.

I agree. My question is when is the last time we have had real economic growth not fueled by government spending qe and artificially low interest rates. I don't like tarrifs, not a fan. Don't know if they will bring back manufacturing. I also don't like other countries putting tarrifs and restrictions to free trade on us. I also agree with jbyrd that I believe the stock markets were vastly overvalued and this is part of a correction that was overdue.

What a nut! F-35's to fight drug cartels? Good grief. No, beaver stud muffin, you don't get it. For the price of a single F-35, we could have waged a very serious actual traditional small arms war against the Mexican drug cartels. F-35s are the MIC, star collars, and the uniparty geopolitical think tank fantasy dreams to fight the Chicoms in their home waters and air and/or Russians directly or maybe they would settle on an air campaign against the Persians.

Asymmetrical warfare has been in the doctrine for a looong time hasn’t it? ……lol Throwing money at the problem won’t fix it either.

Car maker Stellantis just laid off 900 workers. What is a Stellantis...? I've never heard of the company, although I did see a car yesterday in town that I couldn't id from the back because there wasn't a brand logo I recognized on it. It looked like a cross between a higher end Euro but had the exhaust system such as an cheaper old Japanese car.

Car maker Stellantis just laid off 900 workers. Markets are down right now in after market trading. Your wallets are about to get a lot lighter. Be sure to thank your orange Jesus. Markets are a long term investment unless your a day trader. They go up,,,they go down.Been that way forever.Sounds like you made some poor choices in investments Timmy.
