You would be right on that assumption, my wife and I have never bought even one, but I've stood in line behind others waiting to get rich. Does that mean we don't gamble? Well we are farmers and most of our ills has always always been weather related, either too much water or not enough. However it is God we look to and give him the praise.

It might be no tax for the losers but for any winners I doubt you get out of taxes. Win on " lets make a deal" and it ain't all free. Horse track betting seems to take out money for someone? Even casinos pay tax when they are profitable, and the house always wins and makes money, but I wouldn't bet on it, (no pun intended), lol.

Lottery ticket prices are dictated and run by the states. And yes you pay federal tax. As far as I know you always have. This raise has nothing to do with our National debt. They said this raise in lottery was going to happen while Biden still held office last year.

Buying lottery tickets ran by the state would be voluntary and therefor not a tariff or a tax which is mandatory.
Can anyone tell me the difference between a tariff and a tax. What was all the commotion about those guys dumping all that tea in the water way back when? And what ever happened to the "tea party" from a few years back. Are they still around or did they just dissolve? , lol.
