Won’t be heading that far west but sticking to the western edge of Alberta. I don’t even take pics anymore. You look at them after and they just don’t do justice. Anyone that’s never been to see any real mountains, it’s overwhelming. The best stuff to do in these expensive towns is to get out and hike, the trails in the federal parks are “free” with a park pass, but there’s lots outside the parks.

Sledding in mountains is way more fun than hiking

I am at awe with the mountains, the oceans, the salt flats, but nothing gave me the feeling I got when I walked up on my first Sequoia.

That is spot on. Seeing them in person is life altering.

On my way home from Fort Lewis, WA I took the train. Went through Glacier National Park. Gorgeous country! Saw lots of wildlife, especially elk.

My wife wants me to wear a bracelet that belonged to her grandfather. It says, "Do Not Resuscitate".

Not much of a traveler. The mountains near Bakers Mills, NY in the
Adirondacks was magnificent at night. It was so dark that the stars seemed to be
so bright and close that you could reach out and grab a handful.

The beautiful waters of Lake Michigan when you are several miles from shore is
an amazingly quiet and peaceful place to be.

The rifle has no will of its own it may be used for evil but there are more good men than evil men and evil will be corrected by good men with rifles.

Yeah, I stopped in jasper once. Just once. They got me for $700 CAD to stay a night in the fanciest “cabin” I’ve ever laid eyes on. The name brand hotel chains in Hinton are a lot more reasonable, and you don’t have to spend $75 for dinner at some hipster micro brew bar, they have a McDonalds lol

The country around Red River NM or the Palo Duro in TX when it gets a dusting of snow should get honorable mentions.

There's a lot of great places in Alaska but Denali is certainly up there. Felt like cheating to just say Cordova since I live there lol. Catalina Island is also beautiful. I absolutely loved it there.

I’m lucky, I have been to a lot of nice places. I think one of the best has been Denali Park. I have taken the bus all the way to Wonder lake twice and both times the mountain opened up for all to see. I guess that is not very common. The amount of wildlife was incredible, the first trip I seen 11 grizzlys, the second trip wolfs, grizzly’s, moose caribou and a wolverine. The mountain is huge, you can’t believe it was there and you couldn’t see it once it opens up. It’s so big it makes it own weather patterns. Anyone planning a trip to Alaska plan ahead and purchase the tickets in advance, I think they sell out and that is the only way to get that far into the park.
