You have to drink so much water to make sure you’re clean.

There's a lot that can go wrong with your colon besides cancer. Diane had diverticulitis that opened into her body cavity. Fecal matter filled her abdomen until it broke through into her bladder. She started having gas and fecal matter pass out her urethra. They had to remove 14" of colon, a lot of scar tissue in her abdomen and sew her bladder shut. She had to have the catheter in for 5 weeks, to prevent any pressure build up in her bladder, that could prevent it from healing closed. I had to remove her catheter, once she was healed. She was in the hospital for 5 days. She could have died of sepsis, if they hadn't figured it out in time. She was experiencing chills for months, before her colon and bladder connected and they could figure out the cause of. She was on light duty for 3 months. It cost me a small fortune to get her healthy again.

I drank 96 oz of chicken broth and drank the prescribed amount of "cleaner". Eventually you just crap whatever you drank and it cleans you out.

You got to the Doc, they give you an IV and they knock you out. You wake up like nothing ever happened and if all is well they say See you in a decade.

Just do it you big baby. It isn't that bad. You have worked days that were harder and sucked worse.

I would rather have the colonoscopy than go to a movie. I only had to drink a pint of “otc” laxative that cost a couple of dollars easy peasy.

Try the cologuard, when you fail it, then get the procedure.

Colon cancer is a horrible way to die and is largely preventable with colonoscopy and pre-cancerous polyp removal. I've had two and had polyps removed. Both times I woke up feeling like I had the best nights sleep in year. Propofol

My son passed away of colon cancer at the age of 41 in 2021 left behind a 12 year old son.our son lived with us since 2010 after getting divorced.the procedure is a piece of cake compared to what he went thru in the 4 years battling it .its no fun giving someone you love morphine to keep them comfortable and they slowly slip away.(GET THE PROCEDURE DONE IF NOT FOR YOU DO IT FOR YOUR LOVED ONES)

Worst part is the jug of crap they give you to drink! I always take it and a stack of magazines into the John the night before, and just do it, when done, jump into the shower. I always get an AM appointment, I don't even get the sedative, much less knock me out, I take it straight up and to a finish! after I go to the Chinaman's buffet and fill back up. Easy Peasy!!

After the last colon exam the wife had, we were waiting in a room t hear from the doctor. Wife agreed that she would tell the doctor she had a craving for chitterlings. Went right over the doctor’s head.

This thread Is timely. I turn 45 in May Grandgpa has prostate and colon cancer that killed him at 79.

Was at the Dr. and saw the add again to get the screening at 45.

Fipper and ADC have the right suggestion. Talk with your Dr. Is there a family history of trouble. If not, Cologuard is a pretty accurate test for colon cancer potential. If your Dr is agreeable with that as step 1, why not.

Called today to have the doc place the order. Hopefully I can get dinner and a movie first.
