mike mason OP trapper M Joined: Apr 2012 new york	A trapping buddy called me today and said NYSDEC is requiring tagging of all canines next season (25/26). Any NY trappers have any info on this circus.

7887mm08 trapper 7 Joined: Mar 2017 up state ny	They are worried we are going to trap or shoot a wolf! I PROMISE YOU IF A WOLF IS TAKEN THAT WILL BE THE END OF COYOTE TRAPPING! Anything over 50 lbs will have the dna checked to verify what it is.

Not sure if you follow much Fakebook stuff but over winter months there were multiple postings that popped up showing supposed cross coyote/wolf critters in various states. Quite sure NY was one. Recall a couple of them supposedly had been dna tested. Would be good way to get hunting etc shut down

I wonder how they will account for the ones the night hunters shoot that don't make it back to the truck, let alone get "skun"....... Maybe they figure the prices are so low, it won't be that daunting for the agency or trapper and they have compelling reasons to do it? Either way, NOT digging the premise!
