I wish I had a dollar for every-time a plumber, electrician, carpenter, cable repair, deliveryman - etc - showed up late. The delivery guys and cable tv guys tell you they will either be there morning or afternoon. That means you have to be there for at least four hours waiting - and then they are often late. They make Dr visits look like a well oiled machine.
My son is a Dr. He said it is a pain in the butt when they have an emergency on clinic day and he is in the OR saving some guys life and miss 15 scheduled clinic appts and have to listen to all the complaining about cancelled appts and then have to work them into the schedule. He knows it is a pain in the rear end - but said they have yet to come up with a better way. It is a part of life. Doctors experience the same thing. Just grit your teeth and move on.
Easy solution. I get that things happen. Everyone's time is important though too, so if we pay for a cancelation without enough time, then we get a discount for waiting too long or a doctor can't make it. It's not personal, it's just "policy".
When we start doing that with plumbers, carpenters, electricians, computer repairmen, cable repairmen, lawyers, teachers, delivery persons and ALL the others - I think we include Drs
For crying out loud, I drove to the boat ramp the other day to go fishing and the gate was closed due to high water. Dang Corps of Engineers should pay me mileage and lost time for wasting my trip. They should have known that river was going to come up overnight from that big thunderstorm. I am old and dont have much time left on this earth - my time really is worth a lot - at least to me. 😎
