Our old deer blind after a recent violent wind storm. My son and I built it 5-6 years ago.
Deer and turkey shot of this old blind. Including my grandson's first deer. Many days spent there
enjoying God's handiwork. Don't know yet if we can salvage it.

I try to cut all the dead ash, but there is just so many of them. And with all this rain to make the ground soft and rotted roots they just turn over.

Wind blew like that all the way home yesterday I bailed before the hail was supposed to get there.

All the parts are still there, lol , but looks like a new roof might be needed, at least half of one..

Natures way of saying it's time to upgrade the deer blind and church it up some

been thinking of building a box blind or 3. Just not been willing to allocate the time to it. Wow that got smashed.

if I get a conex for bee equipment storage I think a blind would sit nicely on top of it. no need to build legs then.
Also have an old 105 military trailer that was for behind a Duce and a half. 40 " tires I think. Just enough gym round clearance to see above the weeds in fields and movable. May be a nice base for. a blind.

now you can do all those minor upgrades you never did because it worked but may make things just a little nicer.

Mother Nature has the p power and endurance to be a c cruel mother And when she is armed with destruction she is impossible to stop !!

I’ve had two pop up blinds crushed by falling trees in the last two years.

Sheet of plywood and some screws and your good to go. Or, just build around the tree. A good architect would. LoL.
Plenty of time to build it like you want and many years of service.
My food plot took a direct hit during Helen and I will be on a chainsaw for quite some time. It sucks.

Rain and wind ain’t no joke in the woods. How’d you kill turkeys out of it? Is it on a food plot?

Don't view it as a loss, view it as a fun grandpa/grandson summer vacation project.

Glad no one was in there when it happened. Looks like a great spot, I'd remodel it and continue hunting there
