I went to the bar down the road for a ribeye and a beer. The little towns in the area grill steaks one night a week, a different night in each town. They had a TV playing what was called Wall of Honor. It shows vets and the years they were in and where they were stationed. The bar has to pay to have it on their TV, and who ever puts the vet in also pays. Do other states have this? I really enjoyed watching it. It scrolls from one name to another.

I guess I wondered if it was US wide or a ND thing.

Sounds like a "cool" ND thing as our vets surely don't get enough credit!
I wonder ...does the state/national org. VFW get the money for the TV time AND the local bar....kind of a neat celebration possibility for veteran families.

So if folks on both ends have to.pay, where does the money go?
A lot of charities ain't, and a lot of orgs " honoring" folks are honoring cash.

I guess for me the money didn't enter into it. Does anyone do anything for free for Vets everyday? Do TV stations give out a channel for Vets free? I would guess just like the dues you pay to belong to the VFW it goes to expenses. Maybe someone gets paid to keep it up and add listings. Does FHA draw from both ends? Where does that money go? Not many are working full time for nothing, even if they think it is for a good cause.
Maybe it is something the state should pay for.

We have a wall in town in town here too. We have a VFW that is just a building you can rent and use. They have pictures on the wall in it too. It is a town of maybe 500 counting the people out of town that get mail with the town name.
