We've been getting a few ticks on us, almost every day, for the last few weeks. We are getting both deer and dog ticks. We are so sensitized right now that every seed or bit of hay feels like a tick crawling on us.

Are you all having a bad tick year too?

yes quite a few of them and a lot more than normal . 14 year old had one of the brown headed ones dug in half of its body under his right arm pit this morning.

We've got them pretty good in Northeast Missouri.

Have you tried sawyers permethrin? Works good. May take a few years off your life. I don't know yet

Buddy in MO said they are thick in WI the first morning above 40 the deer ticks came out the dog got into some tall grass and picked up a few so no shortage of them so far. Was out the other day locally not a tick that day.

X2 - Zero ticks on me in three days of mushroom hunting. Just spray down my jeans real good, works awesome. In the years before I used it, I'd had easily 30-40 maybe more in that same time frame.

The last permethrin label I read said it was ok to treat the dog with it, but just be careful if you have cats. its toxic to cats.

No ticks here and no spray. All of 34° here this morning. Going to get warmer this afternoon. Been cutting brush for three days and haven't seen a one.

When I started drinking Lone Star beer, they stayed away. Must be coming out of my pores

Got some concentrate permethrin last year, works great. A little bottle should last me almost a lifetime. I just spray the couple sets of cloths I wear in the bush, and a couple sets of work cloths. I’ll spray them down soon, then again in July, that should do it.

Permethrin does the trick.

Strange I haven't seen one yet, this area is usually tick central, have 3 kinds now trying to kill you...it's been a cool spring so maybe that's slowing them down.

these crazy deer numbers=crazy tick numbers. if you walk a deer trail now till Oct you absolutely will have ticks on you regardless of what you use but permethrin is my best option to keep majority of them off.

I picked several deer ticks off me a few weeks ago when I was in the woods cutting buckthorn. Sprayed my pants with permethrin and no ticks since.

spray down your outer clothing and shoes , cheap and effective when you realize a ounce makes a gallon

a pump up sprayer makes application fast and easy with little waste , hang stuff on line spray , let dry

Nice thing about permethrin is you don't have to spray your clothing every time you go out. I've found it to be effective until you wash the clothes.
