I love my .22 WMR.
I’ve dropped quite a few coyotes with mine. It’s kind of hard on small game. It’s great for coon.

Money cannot buy you happiness, but it can buy you a trapping license and that's pretty close.

.22 wsm. I have the original bmag. Haven't shot it for a while and never dialed in beyond minute-of-coon-head at 25 yards. It does kill em faster than a .22 mag.

I meant to say .17 wsm

Can't go wrong with a 22 mag.

22 mag and 5MM Rem accounted for a lot of early venison in this part of the country over the last 75 years.

I have nothing clever to put here.

I have a Ruger 10/22 mag. I've spent many days smokin' ground squirrels out to 125 yards on a golf course driving range. I own a couple others that are not yet broke-in...

That is one you should consider selling. They bring STUPID money because the receivers cracked on them and were recalled. Those aluminum receivers just couldn't stand up to the 22 mag. Retire it, sell it and buy a $1,000 bolt action with the money.

I know, I've not shot it in years. Just watching it increase in value in the safe. Better ROI than silver. Lol

I’d almost venture to say the Marlin 22 mag is my favorite go to gun. Very versatile, inexpensive to shoot, and will kill any critter around here

I wish the 5mm was still made. Aguila has the ammo but no new guns and no easy conversions.

Whats with the price on the marlin 783? I boughr one for 75 bucks in the 90’s now its in the 400’s. I also have a Lakefield bolt NIB. Not worth much. I sold Dad’s Winchester 9422M for way to cheap about 12 years ago. Those things bring stupid money now

I have the Marlin midget magnum in .22 WMR.
Takedown model, came with a blue cloth case. I added 1” rings to the grooved receiver and put a decent 4x scope on it. That thing for such a short barrel is very accurate. Mine has two 7 round clips.
I got this gun in the 1980s from a small gun shop. Traded a crappy old Remington semi auto that wouldn’t feed well and I think I traded plus like $20 for the marking midget magnum.
Best gun deal I ever made.
Jim

It’s a great caliber to start little ones on. Makes a good bit of noise but nothing like higher calibers with no kick. I had all four of my boys shooting it fantastic before I introduced them to a 25-06 and larger guns

I like my .22 mag. Killed a few hogs and coyotes and a lot of squirrels with it! I use a marlin bolt action. When I grow up and get rich and famous! I’m going to get one like Savell!

Every man should have a 22 mag.
That said, I hardly ever pull mine out anymore.
I prefer my 17 HMR. It is much flatter shooting and more accurate. That little 17 grain polymer tip bullet will do some impressive things to things that you want to be dead.
