Out in my backyard with the dog. When I encountered a large, nearly 3 feet long copperhead. After securing the dog in the house. I went back out and there it was ready for business. Couple quick shots with the glock with black talons and it was over. Gosh that could have been bad for the dog or myself.
Been a long time since I've seen one in my yard. So now on. I'll be a little more edgy when out in the yard.
And yes, my Glock will be on my side.

Come on Sarge you don't need all that firepower to dispatch a snake. My grandma, God rest her soul, would have used a garden hoe.

I felt it was lacking a deficiency. LEAD ! Plus practice makes perfect. Also, 30,000 rounds at my disposal is fun.

My mom as well. Would be hard to identify except for what was a snake when she was through.

Copperhead venom rarely if ever kills anyone. You and the dog weren’t in any danger.

Wonder why it was “ready for business” they usually freeze in place relying on their camouflage.

I’d have left him be.

I'd have picked it up and walked it down the road. Coppers are easy.

Black Talon ammo I like. Used to carry that as our duty ammo in the Glock .40s.
