Ok gang,,, I’m not an expert with skunks,, I catch maybe 3 per season in incidental sets.
I’ve got a situation with someone who has a skunk digging up the yard and needs them gone.
I’m wanting to use a dogproof because it’s going to be easier to use the acetone pole.
It’s going to be a bit tricky to get it through the cage if I use a cage trap. Body gripsand footholds are not an option because of dogs.
What would be a good bait to use in the dogproofs??

You can cut a grid wire or so in a couple of places ( top and side ) on your cage trap to allow you access to insert your syringe pole when needed. Works for me.

Use a cage. The cheap green traps from tractor supply will hold one just fine.

I like dry cat food, small marshmallows and fish oil or bacon grease sent trail. The key is to put the DP in the trail so it runs into it.

I would use a PVC tube trap for skunks, or if you don't have one just use a regular cage with cardboard zip tied to the exterior to keep them calm. then you can remove the trap and all with a lesser chance of spraying. has worked for me.
