I guided/outfitted for over 30 years both open water and icefishing, fished pro for years, and run a great lakes rig. I have equipment in few different states so I seldom travel with anything.

that is a lot , but understandable , how often do you change line on those? what line / lines?

flyrods only when line gets rough and loose it’s smooth surface
Panfish rods - mono - 1-6# couple times a year based on use. YoZuri
Panfish braid - suffix 832 reverse ends every couple years
All other braid rods - YoZuri BLUE braid - every two to 4 years I reverse ends based on wear
FYI I standardized all my reels with braids. Exact 100 yrds of braid and then whatever cheap crap for backing. That way once a reel is set, I never change backing and when I replace the braid, it’s 100yrds each time.
Any leaders to braid is YoZuri floro- change as needed

Med sized mono 8 to 14# is all YoZuri and change about 3 yrs

Lake MI rigs - mono 25 PLine change every other year.

Leadcore, copper, braids only as needed

Get cans of Blakemore Reel Magic and occasionally spray your line. Extends life [Linked Image]
