Carbon credits are the biggest scam of them all. They’re an excuse to lock down old growth timber, because they claim it’s saving the planet. The only way to permanently store that carbon is make boards out of it (or pianos, guitars, whatever). Trees absorb carbon as they grow, old growth isn’t growing, it’s at the final stage of its life cycle, so it absorbs no carbon, but releases a bunch when it blows over and rots. If they want to sell carbon credits, they should be looking at reprod units

4) Yes, the climate is changing. The question is whether or not it is human induced? I say no.

I believe the carbon dioxide levels in the atmosphere are climbing. I believe our greenhouse gases are increasing. It is hard not to believe that humans have not contributed to these increases.

We have more trees now than ever before. We plant them all the time. If anything, lack of fire suppression across much of the globe is contributing to more tree and shrub growth.
I only know what I am told about C02 levels in the atmosphere; as I don't have the capability to measure it or compare the amounts over time. Frankly, I don't think anyone does; as one big natural disaster like Krakatoa or the US gov induced catastrophe like Nordstream 2 pipeline explosion drastically changes the dynamics so there really isn't much to compare it to.

I do think we humans are screwing up building more and more concrete, setting solar panels everywhere, and building cities of whirlwind bird and bat killers. If they want solar panels, then go to the cities and put them all over the roof tops. Don't take out prime farmland and grazing land to do it. Humans ain't the problem; its idiot humans in charge that are.

We’re still at the tail end of an ice age. It’s going to warm up no matter what we do. People hate change, but that’s Mother Nature.
Alberta used to be a sea surrounded by tropical jungle. Now we get the sweet black nectar that powers our world from that jungle…..lol.
The worst damage environmentalists are doing is trying to stop forest management. The multimillion dollar cabins are sitting in a ticking time bomb. Some of this bush needs fire to reproduce, but they’re used to normal fires that have been running through for thousands of years. Now, with poor management in these parks, the fires are so hot that the trees won’t grow back. They’ll be living in a very different bush when it starts growing back.

And launched thousands upon thousand of potatoes from PVC spud guns.

Whether climate change is real, and the political response to it, are two separate things. Climate change is real, the political response to it is garbage. We're not going to windmill/solar panel/carbon credit/electric car our way out of it. That's just a scam to make rich people richer.

#3 I have watched weather patterns since the early 50's I see a 7 and a 14 year cycle patterns I also looked at records since the 1700's and see the same patterns.

There are many scientists that say it's a cycle that's been going on for hundreds of years. But, they are ignored by the main stream media. Instead, they prefer to take a fatalistic view and call it man made based on factual science.

It's about getting votes.

It's a problem with no definitive end, or solution. That they can use continually to get votes.

Until it loses popularity in the polls.

Then it's on to the next vote generating scheme.

a couple volcanos can cause more disturbance than what mankind does

everything has been going in cycles from the beginning of man , we have lived much of recorded human time the last 3000 or so years in some small ice ages

what makes it a hoax is not the data , but the robbing this data to make that data and the insistence on doing it fast enough that you can't fully develop a trend

what is being done is a shift of one kind of energy to another , building stuff in mass , just to toss it out


if we were real about this , we would do less slight of hand in how we use and make energy and a lot more reduction of consumption

step 1 to just plain being more conscience of our consumption is to reduce consumption
of energy that generally means more insulation , we use a crazy amount of energy to heat and cool

what actually happens is they save pennies and call it dollars change

an excellent example is refrigerators , there was a test where they took an old 1950s refrigerator and put it on a kill-a-watt meter and did the same with a new fridge the new ones have much smaller motors so they show a reduced energy consumption UNTIL you run them 16 hours a day to cool the same thermal mass as the other fridge cools in 8 hours , now you have within a couple watts of consumption between the 2 , but remember one is 70 years old and worked the entire time , the other one you will be lucky to get 7 years out if , so you must also calculate in the energy consumption of building , transporting , recycling of it x10
now the 70 year old Fridge is way ahead of the new fridge that will need to be replaced every 7-10 years as they are non repairable.

I think you need to add #4. The climate is changing but man's contribution is uncertain.

I have zero doubt that it is warmer generally................in my area over the past 50 years. I can see it in the declining consumption of wood for my heat. I can also see it in the changing land forms on my trapline. Small rises that existed in 1980 are now gone or have become ravines due to permafrost melting.

I think Milankovich cycles are the largest contributor to these changes.

As usual, I think White is correct. If anyone lives outside most of the time for a long enough time and pays attention, then things are definitely NOT like they were.
Down here, we have birds migrating differently, and even birds migrating and taking up residence here that have never been here. I got buddies in Canada that have fished for walleye for 30 years and they are seeing changes on how the fish move.

My barn swallows came back two months early this year. The system is telling us it is changing and changing rather quickly.

Burning wood is carbon neutral. Trees absorb carbon and store it in their wood, and then that same carbon gets released into the atmosphere eventually, whether that's through rotting on the ground after the tree dies, or through burning it.
