Spent a couple of days in the marsh, mostly drakes around as hens are all sitting on nests. Getting some much needed rain now which hopefully will give them a little more water to raise their broods on.

Excellent as always Tray. I would like you to do a pheasant thread. I've hunted them since I was a kid and I'm still amazed by their beauty.

Great pictures as always. Today is the third day of rain for us. We are right at 2" so far. It was needed.

Stewie I like how you think I grew up learning to hunt by hunting wild pheasants The 60 's and 70's where when I began to hunt And hunting ringnecks with a few friends and a coupe of good dogs was about as perfect way to spend a weekend as was possible find By mid season the pheasant had learned every trick in the book Running ahead and flushing wildly holding tight and letting you walk by Waiting until the very last bit of cover was at your feet and chackling and flailing as they tried to escape at point blank range often getting you to shot you gun empty of ammo while the bird was barely 10 feet away from you letting you with a empty shotgun while the pheasant was still within 10 yards of you I like hunting what ever is in season I think a good hunter is able to bag whatever they are hunting But hunting pheasants is a special kind of test of your ability to have a good hunt And they are without a doubt a shing light when it comes to their beauty
