Diabetes runs in my family. After feeling like crap and not being able to loose weight for 2-3 years prior to December of '23, feeling like crappy all the time, not being able to get enough sleep,no energy, etc. My doctor pulled me in for an A1C test. It was over 12 and I was then officially Type 2 diabetic.
I don't eat terribly, but not the best either. Not a lot of fast food or junk food. But I do like beer, not to the point that it's a problem. I never have a problem with not drinking, I just like to be sipping on a cold beer when I'm working in the shop and I enjoy a couple shower beers at night.
January of '24 i tipped the scales at 287 and wore 42" waist jeans. I also started on Mounjaro then as well. Since January of '24 until now I have went from 287 down to 205-210 depending on the day and now wear 36" waist jeans which are almost to big now. A1C was at 5 IIRC I feel like getting out and doing stuff now instead of going back to bed.
The 2 BIG downfalls with the shot that I have found is that it also makes you not want alcohol and you will also loose some muscle mass with it.
That said, it's so dang nice to feel good and be able to do the things I like to do again.
This shot may not be right for everyone, but it has done wonders for me.
I'm sure I'm forgetting something, I guess I can post later if I did.

I lost 25 lbs and have had no noticeable side affects, other than I feel a lot better not packing that weight around. Dr prescribed it for diabetes. Been gradually notching the dosage down, I don’t believe it needs to be taken forever.

Last Dame I was with is an RN. She paid $300/ mo and lost 30 lbs. She says it will come back when she quits it as she is a stress eater.

Then what? Once you got goal you can start incorporate a bigger variety of foods and just be smart about. About it. In the end, everything is a sacrifice. Pick your sacrifice is the issue for many. That verity of food is hard to find just go on a road trip it’s about impossible with the exception of banana/apples in some C stores a few stevia drinks have hit the market like Body armor is one ofter in stores. Sugar, fat and sodium sells and that’s what’s offered 99% of the time. A double burger is about the best choice I have found on the road. At home theres more options but not many.

We are all different but all I had to do was give up grain, sugar and potatoes. If I order a double burger I just eat the rabbit food and meat. Bread goes in the trash.

Great news for the ones it has helped. Doesn't surprise me on this site the negative posters but it has been a game changer life changer for many with these drugs.
Diabetes medications, do you take them or do you not!! Look at the side effects of those drugs to help the issue. Both and most drugs help longevity and makes for a healthier life, and that is just fact.
Not everyone and most are their won Doc and that is fine also.

One guy has one issue the next guy has multiple issues going on the more issues the more complex it gets. I’m lucky that salt and fats are not an issue so I can eat what others cannot in small amounts. I don’t do aspartame in any way it plays heck with my joints terrible knee and back pain.
If I eat like I should I’m miserable if I eat like I wanted I’d still be miserable is the problem so I stick close to my diet but eat the occasional bread or potato I just don’t make a habit of it. It takes a lot of work to find a weekly menu that’s not torture to choke down.
My wife just doesn’t get it or she’s trying to kill me her idea of a meal is buns, pancakes, cereal, French toast and waffles about every day. Kind of lazy in her old age.

I had catfish and scrambled eggs this morning. Hatch green chili in the eggs for rabbit food.

I know 4 diabetics that have gone on ozempic and wegovy. All 4 have lost between 50 to 110 pounds. And their A1C's are now great. They all have said it's fantastic for them.None of them have mentioned experiencing side effects.
They all recommend it. They thought I was on it too.
I lost 100 lbs without the use of drugs. I was never diabetic. So I cut out almost all carbs and for about a year now just eat meat, vegetables and bananas. It's a constant struggle within me not to eat carbs and sugar. So much of everything has those two things. This is what works for me. You have to find what works for your own body.

Wife has taken injection every week for about a year. Lost 30 lbs. And you think that's good? My wife lost more than that in 3 months reducing carbs and light exercises. No risk of side effect less trash in her body all blood work not only back to normal but on the. low side of the scale. Simple to do but America's want an easy fix a pill or shot for everything. messing with hormones will likely have long term effects. But that where we are today.
