I’ve run into this scenario with trees a few hundred times. Someone will ask me to come fall, or worse yet climb a tree they want gone, and they’ll say I can keep the wood…that’s a hard pass from me, I have more firewood than I need, and a huge collection of burls and other oddities, I can assure them I don’t want their crappy green useless wood, and I charge $500 a stump if there’s climbing gear involved.
lol ya The you can have the wood mentality. Yes I burn it but my time, experience and equipment cost well...
I always love the as cheap as possible people and they want a drop and leave when I price a tree removal. Then they call back a week or two later and think I'm going to come and clean it up for the same price I bid for the complete removal and hall off. They get upset when I tell them it will be 2 to 3 time more than what they saved wanting a drop and leave. If I'm in the mood I explain it to them as to why.
1 I have to come back requiring mor unproductive road time and expenses.
2. When I bid it to hall off I would have removed all the brush before dropping the logs on top of it making the logs hard to move and get getting through the limbs and not being able to pull out the limbs from under the logs so now it is 3 time as much work moving that mess.( most of my work was residential and could not be droped whole so ended up in a small area in a pile if not moved as it hit the ground.)
