Good grief, You have a better chance of seeing the second coming than finding red Dot powder anywhere. I would love to switch but I can't find anything that works with my wads and I have about 1000 of them.

Have you looked at Promo? As far as red dot. I stock up once a year. A fellow has it at a show I attend in March. Not cheap.

The suspension of sales of powder by Alliant has probably affected shotgun guys more than most. Not sure why, but they were selling 6 to 8 powders that could be used in 12 gauge target loads alone. So many hull and wad combinations set for those bulky flake powders. Red Dot has been a gold standard (mine anyway) for well over 50 years.
So skinny seems to be.........Alliant powders were being made at Radford Arsenal in VA. They were being made there by Alliant (who took over for Hercules), but lost the contract to another military contractor in 2012. Since then, they have been contracting with those guys to make the powders sold under Alliant name. It was apparently those guys what pulled the plug, not Alliant. Hope is, if they can ever get things to quiet down in Ukraine and Gaza, and get caught up on powders and explosives, excess capacity will open up again and production of these powders will resume.
Until then, it's either scrounge around for it at yard sales, gun shows, etc, or convert to one of the 4 or 5 powders Hodgdon is selling. But when it comes to those flake powders, they haven't done much better. Clays and 700X have been AWOL for 3 or 4 years. High Gun, Perfect Pattern, Competition, Titewad (aka, Nitro 100) is about it.

If the hull and wad combination you are using now leaves a dished in crimp from the high density, low bulk powders, and you have the wads, try switching hulls. Hulls like Rem Gun Club and Win AA are supposed to load the same, but don't. They are just a bit different at the base. Enough a switch may work. If all else fails, the guys on the shotgun forum would have you dropping cherios in shot cup to bulk things up to get the stack height right. Not me.......but some guys.

From what I can find, it looks like 700X is the thing to get if I can find it. Looks like the same wads will work. I'll just have to make sure I have the right size powder bushing.

Almost any of the Alliant shotshell powders are rarer than hens teeth. And when you do find it the price is higggghhhhh

1000 wads? That's 10 rounds of trap! Buy some wads! I think it is a lot closer to 40 rounds of trap. It is in ND anyway.

I’m more of a unique and blue dot guy.
I think there are a couple lbs of red dot and green dot around, but they are not my favorite.
