Same temps as here. Googled your area ,,,, you are almost Canadian….
I’m Haida, I have Canadian citizenship. But I much prefer Alaska. I spend the winter further north, as I’m partial to heavy snowfall and sub zero temps, which we don’t see much of down here Crazy,,,, I prefer 103 plus in the dry climate….. sweat all the impurities out….. Someday I will be able to identify as a Mexican…..
Ant Man/ Marty 2028 just put your ear to the ground , and follow along

I can remember the days of driving out to the job, and sitting in the truck for an hour watching the trees sway in the wind, before deciding it wasn't going to quit and turning around and heading in. There were days we worked surveying timber when we shouldn't have for the wind, we could get away with working in a lot more wind that cutters, but there comes a time when it is wisest to skip it. I remember one morning it had snowed wet sloppy snow all day the day before (really pleasant to work in) turned to rain that evening, then cleared off and froze. We drove to the job, didn't even get out of the truck, watched the trees with tops swaying 20+ feet and no snow coming out of them because it was all froze to the limbs. The crew chief looked at me and asked, "you got any fishing gear?" We were staying in a motel, and there was nothing else to do so we went to town and bought fishing licenses and built a fire under the bridge on the highway and steelhead fished for the day. We didn't do any good, but when we pulled up to where we parked the next morning there were nine trees laid across the bare spot in the snow where we had been parking the truck.

Is that an Australian Cattle dog? Interesting color. She’s a red heeler, maybe mixed with other things, I have no clue. She was given to me by some older folks who were moving south and couldn’t bring her along.

Some days it’s just best to not be in the woods. Heck, there’s days I don’t even want my saw sitting out there. I have lost 2 of them over the years because they got smashed by blow down while I was sitting next to a wood stove somewhere sipping whiskey

Man, we worked some miserable days. When I wake up to a stormy morning and hear the rain pounding on the roof, I feel really good when I remember I don't have to go to work. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve been out cutting lots of days I shouldn’t have. We did on Friday, and it was no bueno. I like when the wind pushes for me, but when it’s trying to whip them off the stump faster than the saw can cut, it ends up being more barberchairs than is really necessary
