I am growing tired of fussing about my back but geez it gets better. Arms going numb at night so my doctor ordered a nerve conduction test. I went and figured it would be normal but I got moderate carpal tunnel in my right and mild in my left arm.
Bloodwork on the patient portal shows that I have low vitamin D. Last year it was 43 now 16. AND my cholesterol and LDL-C is mildly elevated. I read there is some co-relation between the two.
How low is too low? Anyone else deal with that?
Just curious.
Age and issues seem to come on fast!!

Core, core, core....Need to strengthen your core. Sit ups, planks, crunches, etc.

Also, keep your hamstrings loosened up with toe touches, lunges etc. Tight hamstrings really pull on the back, compressing vertebra & nerves.

Take care of yourself and don't be afraid of geting 2nd and 3 rs opinion and even traveling out of state to specialized doctors if issues continue. A lot of doctors flat out suck.

Good example wifes mom is having issues had scans. Doc was useless problems keep on. 2 years later she finds out the old scans showed she only has 1 kidney BUT also the lung cancer she was just diagnosed with today was also visible on the scans from 2 years ago but nothing was ever said about either. That first doctor should have his license pulled.

once, when flying back home after a trip to Florida, I said to my wife that we must be crossing the PA line...she asked me how I knew. I said "all of a sudden, I can't see the ground for all of the clouds"

If you are not getting sunlight on your skin your body can't produce vitamin D. If you are not getting enough vitamin D from your diet you need to research foods that are high in vitamin D. Or you can just buy some Vaitamin D3 over the counter and take it every day. It is safe and effective. Hope your back and arms heal up.

Each day is a gift. LIVE IT with gratitude.

2025 hasn't been my easiest , thus far.
Went to the ER for what I initially thought was an abdominal muscle strain . Except, I'd never had a muscle strain with a fever. Thought that was odd . So off to the ER we went.

Diverticulitis that had developed an abscess . Pain was intense and never seemed to abate . Surgeon went to drain it, and it seemed to only make it angrier. Two days later, back into surgery to remove the damaged section of colon . That was my birthday present. A colostomy bag. I called it my "Pride Purse" for its humbling properties .

Just had the area sewn together , no more bag.

Most humbling part was when I went to grab a new bag and "wafer" to change out, I noticed the size read "Adult". That implied these come in other sizes . Like "infant" and various pediatric sizes. That made me kinda shut up and color.

The other part that was humbling was knowing that before this procedure became widespread, we just died.

Big stroke at 45 , a colostomy for my 51st Birthday. Lol Middle-aged is awesome !

This should cheer her up a bit. A little spotted skunk action who doesn’t like baby skunks.

Went to church with man that lived to be 102 I believe. His response when someone would say good to see you Mr. Smith, he would always respond, "better to be seen than viewed".

My dad would always say, "There aint no shame in getting old but it sure is inconvenient"

Your entitled to oxygen. Everything else is earned.

Oh my!! You’ve had your share of troubles

I couldn't do anything with my left arm for 2 weeks. Went to orthopedics Wednesday. Doc said I had a pinched nerve in my neck. Gave me pedisone and today I have no pain in neck, back or shoulders. Good stuff.

I had colon cancer about six years ago. Removed a portion of my colon, but no bag. Also had kidney cancer at the same time. Lost a kidney. Then a hernia where the surgery was. Got 14" of kevlar in my gut now.

Can't keep my bowels working regularly, but the cancer is gone and the inconvenience is worth it.

Wishing you a great outcome.
