I've always enjoyed fishing and have put some effort into it over the years. This spring I'd decided I was gonna really put some time on the water.. Week in Alabama in March for crappie, week in south texas for redfish and trout the first week of april, Detroit river the second week of april for a couple of days. Did fairly well on those trips, but lost all my pics when i transferred to post image somehow.. Didn't realize before i deleted..sigh..
Started fishing bluegill and red ear here at home on 04/23 and took one week off due to poor weather. I've always thought we had some of the best bluegill fishing in the country here locally. I have two brothers in law retired now and Jodie and about 7 other folks ive been dragging along..We as a group have put 670 7" or better, the majority have been well over 7" bluegill or red ear in the livewell.. I've cleaned 580 of the darn things myself!! We've been very selective only keeping male fish unless they are hooked badly been releasing the big females right along as we go. I'd have been done cleaning fish two weeks ago if we would have kept those!! We have fished 13 lakes in NE IN and Southern lower MI..
They are hard on the beds here now and catching more females so we are about to call it good. I'd like to clean 30 more to make it an even 700 in the livewell..I'm going to order a cajun 4 gal fish fryer as soon as i get this posted lol. seriously! Way more volume than I want to handle in my old aluminum fish fryer.. Been an absolutely great spring on the pan fish and now I'm getting ready to change out all the gear and it will be catch and release bass until late summer.. then the fun panfishing starts.. Tightlining in deep water with the FFS..
