Thought about moving to Australia for a long time after I was there for a month, still do sometimes, but now to set in my ways and grand kids that I would not probably see grow up much, most of my side of the family dead and gone now. Those alive we don't share anything in common, don't visit or talk.

But thats as close it will ever be now days !!

No, I’m happy where I’m at. I would like to own either a big boat or a small float house one day so I can have a mobile trapping/hunting camp

I do have a boat with a cabin, and the rear seats turn into a bed, but I would never use it on purpose. It’s just there in case of a mechanical mishap that left me stranded or if I had to wait out some really bad weather in a bay somewhere. Fortunately I’ve only had to use it a couple times, and only because of weather once. The other time I used it was because I went out fishing and realized I had absolutely nothing to drink on the boat but a bottle of Pendleton, and I got really thirsty….it didn’t help much lol

Just for short spells.

Last year the wife and I took off with some points of interest to see, but no real timetable, stopped whenever we felt like it. Went into California, saw the price of gas and decided that was far enough west, lol. Turned and headed back towards home.

We took 2 lane back roads as much as possible, hitting the small towns the 4 lanes bypass. It was nice!

Took us almost 3 weeks.

There comes a point liberalism has gone too far, we're past that point.

I did this exact thing until I got around 30 years old. My goal was to save money to buy land. I lived out of my truck mostly and worked in multiple states. I loved it and would do it again in a heartbeat. Made and saved a lot of money too. I was single and the only one I had to worry about was me.

Now, I got a wife, a child, and grandkids. Those days are gone for me; as all I do is work all the time every single day. Its worth it though for me; love my girls. I'm not home every night, but I ain't gone for months at a time anymore.

Everyday. I did that for a while when I was younger and will do it again (with a bit more of a plan, but living out of my truck catching and killing) when I retire EARLY.

Work sucks.

Spent a lot of the 70s and 80s self employed living off the land in a cabin for 6 years and trapping several states it’s definitely a younger man’s game I was never in better shape but fell a sleep at the table from exhaustion a few times. LOL It’s a lot easier before the things that old age brings over time like pains and medication issues.

You take risks as a younger man’s then when you have more to lose later in life they can’t take what you don’t have to take. If you’re going to do then do it in your prime to get the most out of it is my advice.

Not yet. Getting close to the finish line and have a lot of plans for retirement.

Money cannot buy you happiness, but it can buy you a trapping license and that's pretty close.

The way I looked at it was if you die thinking that you wish you did do something you lose. I’d rather be able to I wish I didn’t do something at least I gave it a shot. Don’t get me wrong theres a price to pay no matter how you play it pay now or pay later you still pay.

No, I like knowing where I am. Home is home, sometimes wishing it was further out in the sticks though.
