Wow ok. So I assume if Nancy Pelosi had volunteered that idea of eliminating it you would support it just as enthusiasticly...

Pocahontas (Elizabeth Warren) has been pushing hard for the elimination of the debt ceiling for many years. Does that fact change your opinion of the idea?

Eh...wot?

look up the term "Straw Man Argument"...your post fits the definition PERFECTLY!

it's a disingenuous technique used by the simple-minded; and it won't fly here.

That's not entirely true, they are all in it together. The president has the power of the veto.

This bill sucks

I like tax cuts and booting able bodied childless from Medicaid and snap unless they at least get a part time job.

CBO claims it'll add 2.4 trillion to the deficit over ten years. I can't argue that as my crystal ball doesn't go that far past tomorrow. DOGE needs to find another 60 billion in cuts and it'll be a wash.

There comes a point liberalism has gone too far, we're past that point.

We have moved on to tax credits, since about half of the population pays no income tax. Good way to hide welfare payments. Take them off the revenue side of the balance sheet.

The US has been in debt since its inception. Only President Jackson was able to retire all of the debt and that time frame was short lived. Since 1940 we have averaged 67% debt to GDP with a low of 31% in 1981 and a high of 126% in 2020. Learning how to manage debt and ceate growth and wealth to me seems to be the most viable option.
