Has anyone tried trapping beaver using castor mounds when there’s only sheets of ice along the edge of the river? The river I’m by doesn’t freeze solid it just gets some ice along the sides for like a month that are about 1-2 feet wide, then it melts. Curious if anyone’s ever put a castor mound set right on the edge ice like that and had any luck.

Outside bends with current, especially south facing slopes that get sun exposure. Use footholds.

This guy kills more Beaver in a year than I will in my lifetime. If he gives advice, I would listen to it and say Thank You.

I have nothing clever to put here.
