Surprisingly, two of my fox actually did get into the eastern section. Most of the rest were centrals which was expected.

What is the "Complete" section? I'm guessing it's not good. III's and DGD's in there.

Seven of my furs were not in any lots. Does that mean they will be held for the next sale? Or sold private treaty?

That is beyond bizarre! Wow. Sounds like they hired some new beaver graders. If that isn't the case maybe they need to. We all understand tighter grades when the market dictates.... but putting those nice dark beaver into the western section makes no sense at all.

If they’re gonna miss as many black rats as they did this auction, I’ll sell them all privately or out west. They can always miss a few but I sent probably 40. I’m not sure what’s more egregious, the rats or the beaver lol.

At least I can laugh about it.

Complete usually means with feet. But not always. Once pics are posted, I will take a closer look.

Seems odd they would hold unlotted pelts for the next sale. The next sale is 9 months away - March 2026.

Outside chance they haven’t scanned all the bar codes yet, especially in your pelts are in the bulk of a string lot.

Buyers are starting to arrive in North Bay - the only thing on FH mind is having sample lots and catalogs ready for the buyers. Nothing sucks worse than buyers standing around with nothing to grade.

Traditionally my beavers mostly go eastern. I have never figured out a percentage but most of them do with a handful western only and it’s been that way for about 15 years I have been selling. This sale a little over half my beaver went western

Glad it’s not just me sask, but sorry to hear.

I gotta wonder if the loss of Dave had anything to do with this grading. I’m not sure if Toby graded at all too..

Lugnut - your fox is not in the complete section. Sorry. Complete lots are 221-225.

Your fox is in the third section. It is not labeled but starts with lot 241. The description of lot 247 is light weight IIIs and damaged. Probably $5,00 or less, IF it sells.

You didn’t screw up. It was a logical assumption for some one not familiar with how catalogs are done.

Section III does not have a page label, like other sections.

Three of my cats were labeled as I-II HVY-SEMI BLUE B-C all in the same lot. Was kind of surprised at that. I wouldn't have called any of them blue backs.

Nancy, how do the bluebacks do usually. You know?

The page above the furs graded III's and damaged was labeled Complete. I missed that there was no "STRING CONTINUED NEXT PAGE" on the bottom right of that page. That's why I assumed mine were in the complete section.

I see now that they are all by themselves with no section assigned.

Thanks for your help.

My portal is still showing seven of my fox have not been lotted.

I’m thinking that when the sale is over a week from now, all your foxes will be accounted for, including the 7 that are “ missing” now. In my opinion, they just haven’t been scanned yet. Happens in the rush to get the samples ready.

Does your account show that they received the correct number of red fox? If so, you are good.

I don’t know… I can see how you would need to be an experienced grader to tell the difference between a brown and black rat. Very tough to see with the untrained eye lmao. Missing this many isn’t experience, it’s laziness.

Yes, my receipt shows that they received all the foxes that I shipped.

Then you are good. Just let the process work itself out. Once the auction is over and done, your “missing” foxes will be accounted for.

Lugnut - feel free to ask any more questions or concerns you may have. Understanding international fur auctions is not necessarily an easy process. I won’t tell you how many sales it took me to understand the ins and outs of bidding on string lots. On large strings the bidding can be like a 3 ring circus.

Hope you enjoy listening to the auction.

For anyone that watches their fur go live on YouTube, here's what I do to make it way easier to follow along. I copy/paste my info under the "lots" tab on my account page into a Word document. The I get rid of the stock number, price and total. I also highlight in red the first lot at the beginning of the string that my fur will be in. Keep in mind that sometimes a buyer doesn't buy the whole string, but it makes it way easier to follow along when the beaver hammers dropping like crazy.
