Have an excess of grass clippings. Can they be used around or between the plantings?

You can but I wouldn't use fresh ones right around the plant stems as they get super hot, jmo.

I wonder if tap dancers walk into a room, look at the floor, and think, I'd tap that. I wonder about things.....

Whenever I use grass clippings I make sure there is a little distance between the clippings and the stems.

If the lawn has been treated with broadleaf weedkiller you dont want it in the garden where everything but corn is a broadleaf.

If you have access to chicken feed bags, use them. I planted 22 bags of potatoes this year. I roll the bags down to half size, plant the seed, and cover them as they grow, until the bags are back to full size and full of compost covering. The leaves are about two feet above the bags now. I hope they are plentiful, because my onions and beets are all greens and no roots.

It does help with keeping the weeds down , But we found that it brings on those white cut worms .
