Some of y'all get so hissy. That's why threads get axed--you're overly emotional.
Keep up the good work, loosegoose. I bet your kids will go far. Your advice is a gift but others opinions are bad? Nothing that would get this axed until you get involved. LOL I noticed when the hammer dropped yesterday you disappeared pretty quick so maybe your advice is not what you think it is.

Just out of curiosity, on the teaching the kids things, did you also teach them that, despite having freedom of speech, protests can be extremely dangerous, and if their belief in an issue isn't strong enough that they are willing to get hurt, or even die for it... then there are better ways to accomplish change?
I mean sure, you have a right to freedom of speech, but you also have no control over what people that believe differently may do, OR over what those that you are protesting with may do, that could cause you to get hurt? I'm not saying people should be cowards and afraid to stand up for what they believe in, only that they should be aware of the possible ramifications of doing so.
As to if I've ever been to a protest, just once, and it wasn't much of one. There were two republicans running in a primary election for Governor. One of them supported keeping our state flag, and one supported changing it. I was in favor of keeping it. A friend of mine called and asked if I would go with her to a protest. The candidate that was against the current flag was holding a rally in a small city nearby and my friend was going with some other people to protest against her. I showed up and there were maybe 2 dozen protestors. All we did was stand there and walked back and forth some holding American flags, state flags, and a couple confederate flags.
What was funny, was that even though there were only about 2 dozen of us, there were only about a dozen people there for the woman's rally, LOL, so we outnumbered them 2-1. After the rally she asked if anyone had any questions for her. None of her supporters did, but a couple people in my group raised their hands. She looked directly at them, then turned around and walked off the stage and left, LOL.

Bother me tomorrow. Today I'll buy no sorrows.

Just today there was a vehicle used to hit a crowd and a shooting but many were peaceful protest but taking a kid to one is not a choice I’d make with current levels of possible violence

No, waste of time and energy. Would rather be fishing, hunting, camping, out in nature. Maybe mowing the grass or watching paint dry. Many more important things to do rather than being around other people I don’t know or care about.

Yes, I attended the protest against the NY SAFE act in Albany, NY, along with my County Sheriff and 10,000 plus other pro 2nd Amendment NY’ers.

Is that the gun you accidentally shot your dog with in front of your children? Keith Nah, that was a different one, and the kids were in bed.

Story time I guess. The long of the short of it, is that I had gone shooting with the kids that day, so cleaned guns that night. I stuck a loaded mag in my AR, and racked a round as a basic function check. I set it down in the corner to open the closet, dog comes bounding in and jumps up, I move out of the way because I don't want to be jumped on, he lands on gun, gets leg tangled in sling, freaks out and starts dragging gun across the room, I jump on the gun, grabbing it by the grip, finger goes in trigger guard, gun goes bang. Dog gets knicked on the chin and the chest, except there no such thing as just a knick from a .223 at point blank. Dog was hurt bad, but recovered fine, valuable lessons learned ,idiocy to never be repeated (never ever let a loaded gun out of my immediate control, don't even let the dog in around guns that aren't in my immediate control, don't chase a falling gun, purchase snap caps, etc etc etc. Worst night of my life by far. I don't mind telling the story. Others can not make my idiotic mistakes.
