As an American who understands what One Nation Under God means, I disagree with you whole heartedly. Our nation has been greatly blessed as we have allied ourself with Israel - it is sad to see folks today not understand the depth of this relationship.

I am afraid you got something fundamentally wrong there.
Zion in the biblical sense is granted by god only to those purest of heart and free of sins.
Zionism on the contrary is a concept invented by the devil, letting people believe they have a right to sin to take what he makes them believe is entitled to them.
On judgment day, any of these sins will be on their balance sheet.

The text is about Jerusalem has fallen into sin and how it will be relieved.

I do not know how it is translated in your bible.
In German bibles, derived from Luther's translation it says in 1:27 that Jerusalem (Zion) will be relieved (from this sinfull state) by (return to) justice and those who return to justice by righteousness.
In an American bible I read
1:21
"See how the faithful city
has become a prostitute!
She once was full of justice;
righteousness used to dwell in her—
but now murderers!"
1:27
"Zion will be delivered with justice,
her penitent ones with righteousness."

Well, we are back at the status of 1:21 now (if we had ever left there) and waiting for 1:27.
And it won't be the murderers like Netanjahu who free Jerusalem from sin.
