Called for a muskrat job in a public marina where they are chewing on the plastics and getting up on boats. Not really interested in bidding on the job but the company has been good with throwing beaver jobs my way over the years. The public is all over the place, rip rap stone on all shorelines. Docks are 2x6's down into the water.

Besides floats anyone have some advice on a job like this? I really have no luck getting muskrats to come to bait/lure this time of year.

Would appreciate any and all advice.

With the rip rap, are they living on the property or are they swimming in from some other property?

Not 100% sure, might be up under a dock for all I can see.

good point about if they're living there or just traveling through the area.

I tell people if they're just passing through trapping them is probably not worth the effort IMO, unless the customer is willing to pay with possibly no results.....

catching them where they burrow into the shore is where I've had most success in colony traps.

Rats can be a real challenge in that setting. Done a few jobs like that.

Yeah the money is good but going to pass. Think to do it right would be a longer term project and the distance just does not make it viable for me. Thanks for the reply's
