Today I was running my summertime raccoon line im running to help clean some nest raiders out of a high pheasant area. Today while running it I caught a fox in a DP. How common is this? A first for me and I was wondering if this is something I should warn these land owners its a possibility?

If your using a push pull trigger anything is possible.

It can obviously happen, but it isn't common. As said above, probably a push/pull trigger?

I will run 5 - 8 dozen a year for about 7 weeks between 2 states. I caught my first red fox in a duke dp last year. I use pull only. I'll see if I saved a pic.

I lied, it is a EZ - dog proof, they are pull only as well. I do not use the push pull as they can be pushed with a tongue.

You ever have any trouble with the no-bs chain links opening up? I put some no-bs earth anchors on a few db's and be the last time the links would open up when pulling up traps and the welds broke on most the s hooks idk if it was a bad batch or not but went back to making my own.

My No bs Dps chain set up did that also. Very frustrating.

Those EZs are great traps, by the way. I've got 4 dozen and wish they were still made.

Yes, last winter when I pulled I completely straightened out one of my S hooks and broke a couple other welds. i pulled the chain wolf fangs off and added cable wolf fangs on those ones.

Kinda why I hadn't bought any no bs dog proofs they look like a good deal coming set up with chain and staking but if they need replace with new chain might not be a good deal.

I’ve caught a few in DP’s, doesn’t happen often but it happens.

Stop over cooking your meat! It isn’t gamey, it’s over cooked!

Yes, I run only the pull type trigger. I have caught them and even targeted them with the DP at certain places where people wanted the red fox removed that had domestics that would possibly get caught in footholds.
