My hummingbird bird feeder was getting emptied every other day so I set up a trail cam to find out it's a coon. I put the feed out, so it's my fault he's there. Do I raise the feeder or trap the coon?

personal preference my friend. others will move the feeder, some will remove the coon. I removed two last night eating protein for deer. many more will come. nobody down here does much trapping anymore unless paid to do it. no money in the worthless fur.

Why not both?

both of the ones I shot last night were males and they were twice grown. got a bonus armadillo too. Lapua subsonic match ammo and a suppressor are a sweet combo. I had my hearing aids in and I could just hear a whisper. pretty sure since the wife is house sitting our son's dogs, more will find the same demise tonight

I know that some farmers will put out a pan of root beer or in OP's case he could use hummingbird food laced with Golden Malrin (its a fly bait). The coons just lap it up and you'll find them all dead within a few feet of the pan next morning.
Check local laws etc etc....

well you know what they like and you got them hooked on it , so yes I feel the responsible thing to do here is an intervention.

put them all in cuffs and make sure they don't re-offend

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.
