Us trappers come up with inventions all the time to get stuff done. I can't load my canoe anymore by myself and I'd appreciate your idea's. I don't care what it looks like (I made a stern light out of pvc pipe and a mayonnaise jar lol) cause I really need to keep out there hunting, trapping and fishing as long as I can.
I'm thinking maybe a type of roller bar on the back and a small winch on the front or some kind of ramp that comes down on the side of the vehicle. IDK. I sure would appreciate your thoughts and suggestions, thanks!!
Disclaimer; I would get a canoe trailer which would solve my issue but have no place to store it.
I wonder if tap dancers walk into a room, look at the floor, and think, I'd tap that. I wonder about things.....

Was a pole the height of the roof. Guy picked one end of canoe up and it fastened to pole, then he picked up other end walked it around to front of vehicle.
Pole looked like one of those skinning rigs you slide in your trailer hitch.

There comes a point liberalism has gone too far, we're past that point.

I have a deer cart I use for hunting and trapping and I'm thinking of a way to adapt it for the canoe as well, to get it to and from shed to vehicle. This might work but not sure I can lift it that high? If the pole in the back was adjustable, that would work, but going around to the front, not sure but definitely worth looking in to!

When my folks were on the road Dad had a rig similar to the one in the video here. This was back in the 90s. Loading/unloading was simple and easy. Never had a problem with it. I'm not sure if you could do the same with a canoe, but here's another option.

One more thing . . . he had small tires rigged up on the transom that would slide up an down in brackets. This way he could offload the boat near a landing, load it up, slide the tires down, lift the bow and walk it down to the landing. Just before shoving off, the tires would slide up on either side of the motor.
You can see the small tires under the stern. This was their "home" for 10+ years.

Muskrat, that's pretty cool. I'm thinking of ways to adapt my deer cart to do just that. Your Dad was pretty smart!

A removable trailer tongue would be easy compared to all that other stuff to me,
Just a suggestion.
Hmmmmm, that is something to think about. So cut the tongue, install a piece with pins and then take apart when backed in shed??? That sounds plausible.
