Last fall was the first time I ever planted garlic. Just picked the scapes and fried them in olive oil in the cast iron skillet. Not bad.

Scapes are good in stir fry as well. Also go good in salads, either green or potato.

I like to make a scape pesto. I use a food processor with scapes, parmesan cheese, just the green can kind, walnuts and salt. Start blending dry and add oil very slowly while blending. Put in frig over night or at least a few hours. Boil some spaghetti noodles and put in large skillet. Add pesto, a few red pepper flakes and heat on medium stirring till all mixed. Can add a ladle of pasta water if it looks a little dry when heating. Goes over very well at our place.

Are the scapes from wild garlic any good for eating?
