I am reading Dead Man's Walk, not my favorite but I have to finish a book I start(some kind of personality quirk). I have caught up on my magazines so not sure what is next, probably back to sci-fi or fantasy. Another sf/fantasy fan. I'm more of a sf fan than fantasy, but if the Author is good, it is good also. Just reread David Weber's In Fury Born which is mainly mil-scifi but has a bit of crossover with fantasy. Never tried Larry McMurtry's books I didnt care for the movies even though my wife loves them, so never had an interest in reading the books. Besides I grew up on Louis L'Amour and he pretty much ruined me for other western writers. bearcat2 I have every Louis L'Amour book written and have read them so many times I pretty much have them memorized. If you like Weber have you tried Larry Niven or John Ringo. In my opinion two of the better sci-fi writers.

I recall reading Blue Highways back in the early 80's Enjoyed it. I just finished reading Bucking the Sun ....for the second time, and have moved on to The Whistling Season........for the second time. Both by Ivan Doig ...........who's work I thoroughly enjoy. English Creek is one of my favorite books. Really enjoy Doig’s writing.

Sundance, Weber, Ringo and Elizabeth Moon are my favorite SciFi authors. Niven I've only read a couple of. I also own every Louis L'Amour he wrote. Have you tried Isaac Asimov?

Just finished Dopamine Nation by Anna Lembke. Was a fascinating read about psychology and how are brains and reward pathways operate.

It covers the generation prior to English Creek and sets up the story that continues in Bucking the Sun and on into The Bartender's Tale. Good stuff !

Good stuff ! Would you recommend reading Dancing at the Rascal Fair before English Creek or in order of publication? Or doesn't it matter?

I'm assuming most of you have read Collier's, "Three Against the Wilderness"? One of my favorite, if not my favorite book of all time.
